Ben’s biography:
Ben Schafer is the 5th generation of Schafer’s and 3rd generation of auctioneers residing in Noble County. With deep roots such as that Ben is engrained in Southeast Ohio. His passion for his work has allowed him to serve in several neighboring counties and he has become familiar with the entire Southeast Ohio region.
Ben has been involved in the auction business his entire life. He started as a child ‘running sheets’ at Grandpa’s auctions. After he became old enough, he started helping the guys clean out properties and getting everything ready for auction day. Before long he was clerking and cashiering the auctions and after high school Ben became licensed in the real estate agent and auction business.
Since the start of his auction career, Ben has been a partner with his father, Ed, running Ed and Ben Schafer Auctioneers. In the ‘early’ days, Ed and Ben were just a two-man, father/son duo. But after Ben opened up Ben Schafer Realty in 2008, Ed and Ben Schafer, Auctioneer’s became more than a father/son duo, they now had real estate agents helping them promote the auction marketing method to a wider audience.
Ben has been lead auctioneer at Ed and Ben Schafer Auctioneers since day one and still serves in that role. Ben specializes in selling real estate at live auction, but can sell just about anything. Ben also serves as Broker/Owner of Ben Schafer Realty as well.
Ben understands the value of community and donates his skill to several worthwhile organizations throughout the year. One of his favorites is the Noble County Fair Jr. Fair Livestock Auction, where Ben remembers his Grandpa selling his 4-H and FFA projects and now he gets to sell so many other kids’ projects, including his own kids’ projects.
Ben resides just outside of Caldwell with his wife, Angela and two daughters, Elle and Claire. Derick, Kate and Sterling complete his family circle. Ben is an avid Ohio State fan and just enjoys hanging out in his free time.
